Othello

Synopsis

The story of Othello has always curiously intrigued us- it is about love that leads to killing.

Perhaps it is not so strange that Love is often linked with War because their very juxtaposition is the essence of our existence that seeks to dissolve one’s self in the supreme act of sacrifice, a Blood Wedding.

Here is a warrior for us that would not admit impediment in the marriage of true minds, who must kill for the sake of his love, and love while he kills.

It baffles us to this day because we yet do not know how to imagine the person of an Alexander, a Christ or a Gandhi, or the Passion in both of them that sears the flesh before it could steal the fire from Heaven.

Othello, the play, is therefore more than a Tragedy. It is a saga for the civilization to witness.
